Not as addicting as the previous truffles, but still pretty good. I guess if I’m craving Reese’s peanut butter cups they’d do the trick. I used some more of the Belgian Dark chocolate from T.J.’s and grabbed my favorite nut butter from Whole Foods. The mix was kinda oily (and crumbly – use a plate, paper towel/sink while eating) and I assume that’s what kept the chocolate from drying like it did the last truffle go-round and once thawed the chocolate definitely melts in your hands. If I make these again I would take a few paper towels and squeeze out what oil I could since you could definitely feel the oil squish out when you squeeze the mix to help keep the ball form.
Tyler was disappointed that they weren’t the other ones. “Where’s the cookies?!?!” he exclaimed. I didn’t put any toppings on these. Nothing seemed to go just right. I think he’s butt-hurt they’re a nut butter. But he likes Reese’s peanut butter cups, that weirdo! It’s ok, I know what I’m doing next time. 🙂
